2012 Truck Safety and Education Symposium

Mar 27, 2012

We will be attending The 2012 Truck Safety and Education Symposium and Safety Exhibition March 27-28, 2012 in Albany, NY.  It has been said that it’s a poor craftsman who blames his tools. However, a craftsman with the wrong tools, or none at all, would undoubtedly argue this point and find it difficult to demonstrate his skills in the best way possible. The same principle applies to the trucking industry.

The focus of the 2-day 2012 NYS Truck Safety and Education Symposium and Safety Exhibition is to provide all trucking professionals — from safety directors and maintenance managers to drivers and dispatchers — the proper tools they all rely on to do their jobs to the best of their ability with a Toolkit for Safe Trucking. One of the most critical issues currently facing the driving public is distracted driving.

The symposium will not only include information on the epidemic distracted driving has become and how to illustrate the realities of the problem to all employees, it will also offer a first-hand perspective on the issue through a drowsy driving simulator, courtesy of Nationwide Insurance and the New York State Police. These tools will surely prove to be an invaluable component of the Toolkit for Safe Trucking.
